Queensland’s Shadow Treasurer | Member for Waterford
Shannon Fentiman is passionate about building a fairer Queensland and currently serves as the Shadow Treasurer and Shadow Minister for Women. She has proudly represented the people of Waterford in the Queensland Legislative Assembly since 2015.
During her time in the Labor Government, Shannon held a number of senior ministerial portfolios including Attorney-General, Minister for Women, Minister for Health and Minister for Small Business, Employment and Training. In these roles she led major reforms to protect women and families, improve access to justice, introduced Free Tafe and strengthened our health system.
Shannon grew up on the Gold Coast and has always called Queensland home. After completing a Bachelor of Laws at QUT and a Master of Laws at the University of Melbourne, she worked as an employment lawyer. Shannon also volunteered with community organisations in Logan, including the Centre Against Sexual Violence and the Beenleigh Neighbourhood Centre, deepening her commitment to supporting vulnerable Queenslanders.
Shannon lives in Logan with her husband Matt, stepdaughters Sibella and Maggie and their much-loved dog Harry.
