Fiona Simpson, Member for Maroochydore, is a community advocate with a reputation for hard work and service, earned over the course of her more than 30 years of service in the Queensland Parliament.
She made history in 2012 when she was appointed as Queensland’s first female Speaker. A former award-winning journalist, she has held leadership roles in health, transport, tourism, and small business.
She serves in the Crisafulli Government as the Minister for Women, Women’s Economic Security, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships, and Multiculturalism.
She is passionate about helping people in these diverse communities across every region in Queensland to overcome social and economic barriers, encourage greater participation, and improve opportunities.
At the Summit, she will outline the Queensland Government’s 2025 Women’s Economic Security and Wellbeing Report and explore what these findings mean for organisations and leaders.
