Casey Tanks (CA) is an accomplished finance executive and the current Chief Financial Officer of Sime Darby Industrial Solutions Australasia and a 2025 AFR BOSS Young Executive. With over 15 years of experience across corporate finance, restructuring, and strategic leadership, Casey has consistently delivered transformative outcomes across diverse sectors including mining services, financial services, and manufacturing.
Her career includes pivotal roles such as leading Sime Darby’s $220 million acquisition of the Caterpillar Dealership in New Zealand, where she managed complex negotiations, due diligence, and board engagement. As Corporate Finance Manager and later Senior Commercial Manager at Hastings Deering, she drove strategic initiatives, led integration efforts, and supported executive decision-making with robust financial analysis and governance. Earlier, at KPMG and NAB, Casey honed her expertise in restructuring and turnaround, managing high-stakes engagements and distressed asset portfolios.
Casey’s leadership is underpinned by resilience in high-pressure environments. She has navigated personal health challenges and professional setbacks with adaptability and resolve, embracing unconventional career moves to build a broad base of experience. Her philosophy is that resilience is not just about enduring difficulty—it’s about using adversity as a springboard for growth, transformation, and empathetic leadership.
