Having impromptu pulse check discussions in a lift. Some people are excited to see me; others sometimes choose the next lift. I respect that not everyone is comfortable talking in a lift full of their colleagues but it is now well known at WorkCover and it is one of my favourite places to get a real sense of what is going well and what we need to focus on.

I joined WorkCover in mid-2024 after retiring “for good”. Whilst my wife and I planned retirement to the last detail, the one thing I didn’t account for was the importance of purpose, contributing, and “playing it forward”. So, I set off to find a role where I could play a part, make a positive difference, and “give back”. I am pleased to say that I have found my place at WorkCover.
